We want everyone to be able to use the Orchard Skylights Maidstone website, including people who use assistive technology. This statement describes what we have done, what may still fall short and how to ask for help.
1
Our aim
We aim for the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. The site is built so that pages can be read in a logical order, headings describe the content beneath them, and the quote form can be completed with a keyboard.
2
What we have done
- Text and background colours are chosen for readable contrast.
- Images that carry meaning have text descriptions.
- Form fields have visible labels.
- Links and buttons can be reached and used from the keyboard, and the focus position is visible.
- Pages work at different screen sizes and when text is enlarged.
- Motion is limited, and animation respects the reduced motion setting on your device.
3
Known limits
We have not found every barrier yet. Some older images may have descriptions that could be more detailed, and any embedded map or third-party content may not meet the same standard because we do not control it. When we find a problem, we will correct it.
4
Other ways to reach us
If you find the site hard to use, you do not have to use the form. Email info@orchardskylightsmaidstone.co.uk, call 01622 277162 or send a WhatsApp message to 07880 284133 and tell us what you need. We can take your details, answer questions and arrange a survey that way. If you need information in a different format, such as larger print or plain text, ask and we will do our best to provide it.
5
Feedback
Please tell us about any page or feature that you cannot use, giving the page address and the device or assistive technology you were using. We will acknowledge your message and try to give you a useful reply or a fix as soon as we reasonably can.
6
Enforcement
If you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS), which advises on equality and human rights. Details are on its website.
